PATRONAGE RULES

1. The fee for affiliation to the society is £4 (Four pounds)

2. The level of patronage awarded shall be at the discretion of the committee of “The Lovebird (1990) Society” whose decision is final, and will be based on the information provided on the application. Notes on guidance are given below

3. Rosettes shall only be awarded to paid up members of the society

4. Under NO circumstances shall patronage rosettes of the lovebird society be awarded to any bird which is in the judge’s opinion a hybrid. In addition to hybrids between peach faced lovebirds and other species, Judges and show managers are reminded that Nyasa, Masked, Fischer’s and Black Cheeked Lovebirds are separate species and hybrids between them are equally unacceptable

a)   All birds entered in CYOB classes shall be close rung with the society’s rings

b)   The show manager is asked to ensure so far as possible that rings have not been cut or stretched

c)   Un-rung CYOB birds may be shown and qualify for rosettes in adult or any age classes

6. Judges names addresses shall be notified to the society as soon as available. There is no restriction on judges used, but the information is required so that an information pack “Judging Lovebirds” can be sent to them

7. To be selected as a “Points Show” the show will be expected to give lovebirds their own section and use the society’s nine class classification (excluding classes for junior’s birds). Consideration may be given to weather or not other “Special Prizes” are available to lovebirds at the show

8. Other shows will be awarded patronage of either:-

a)   Support (2 rosettes for Best Lovebird & Best CYOB Lovebird)

b)   Club (3 rosettes, two rosettes as above plus one Special)

c)   Full (5 rosettes, two rosettes as above plus three specials

Level granted will depend on the classification referred and the number of lovebirds entered at your last show. A minimum of three classes (excluding classes for junior’s birds) must be offered and Full patronage will only be awarded where at least five lovebird classes (excluding classes for junior’s birds) are offered. Winners of ‘Best Lovebird’ & ‘Best CYOB Lovebird’ at these shows will also earn points towards the societys annual trophy

9.

a)   All shows shall return a list of winners by 21st November so the winner of the Points Trophy can be decided.

b)   Unused rosettes shall be returned to the society

10.

a)   The Lovebird (1990) Society will publicise to its members that patronage has been awarded and space permitting give details of the show secretary

b)   The show shall incorporate in its schedule details of the society, its subscription rates and the name and address of the membership officer along the following lines:-

This show has Points/Full/Support patronage from The Lovebird (1990) Society whose rosettes are for competition by its members only. No hybrids. CYOB lovebird entries to be close rung with lovebird (1990) society or FBA ring. Points are scored towards an Annual Points Award.

11. Birds must be shown in approved show cage
